Qixi Festival or Chinese Valentine Day occurs on July 7th every year to celebrate the annual meeting of a love story of Niulang and Zhinu. Legend has it that Niuland is just a cowherd living on the earth while Zhini, the weaver girl, is the daughter of the heavenly Queen Mother, but they are predestined lovers. Therefore, their love suffers differences and is offended by Heaven’s law, which results in severe punishment for both after their happy staying together for 2 years. In details, Zhinu was forced to go back to her place while Niulang tries his best to chase after her but their love is separated by the Milky Way. Being touched by Niulang's sincere heart, the heavenly Queen Mother defines their annual meeting on the seventh of the seventh month every Lunar year.
