III - The inappropriate time to come Hanoi
Besides the best time to go to Hanoi, we also highlight the period that may not be the best time to have a wonderful Hanoi tour such as the beginning of the Lunar New Year and the hottest days within summer.
1 - The first three day of Lunar New Year
These three days which usually fall into the middle of January or early February of the Solar calendar are the uniting and gathering time of all Vietnamese families. After a long year of working and studying, the Lunar New Year is considered as the time for gathering, cheering together, relaxing, sharing the whole year’s stories and commemorating one’s ancestors. Therefore, at that time, Vietnamese people go back to their hometown to reunite with their relatives and almost all the tourism services, restaurants, stores and shops are postponed. Open restaurants are uncommon and it is very difficult for tourists to have a nice holiday.
Besides, many tourist attractions and destinations also are closed during these three days. In addition, accommodation facilities are mostly closed at this time, making it very inconvenient for tourists to find hotels, motels and resorts to stay. As a result, your trip will be less interesting.
2 - The hottest days of summer
As you know, Hanoi's summer is quite hot and humid which may reach the peak temperature of up to over 40 degrees Celsius. Therefore, traveling to Hanoi at this time visitors may feel uncomfortable, tired and even more serious, you could get sunstroke, which would obviously interrupt your holiday as well as having negative effects on your health.
In general, the best time to visit Hanoi Vietnam is from October to April of the next year when the weather is not so hot and the rainfall is lower than the period of summer from May to September.
