Vietnamese cuisine has the interference and selective learning quintessence of French, Chinese, Indian cuisine creating an extremely harmonious and unique culinary. A typical example of this learning and development is “Banh Mi” - a famous street food in Vietnam that has been created based on French cuisine, or Tofu gruel which is derived from Chinese cuisine. 

In any dish, whether it is a humble daily meal or fancy party dishes, Vietnamese people often use multiple ingredients & spices to balance 5 tastes: sour - spicy - salty - sweet - bitter in the foods in Vietnam. In addition, each region has a different way of seasoning and cooking, creating the typically regional flavors of foods. In general, the northern dishes have a light taste, the central dishes are famous for spicy & salty flavor, while the southern dishes are sour and sweet. An interesting Vietnam food fact is that maybe with the same dish, people can enjoy several versions of food with different tastes and flavors. 

Vietnamese foods are widely well-known as one of the most healthy foods in the world.  In Vietnames culinary,  selecting & using most-fresh ingredients and seasonal vegetables is key to creating nutritious and delicious dishes.
